Arab Bank Launches Finger Vein Recognition Service

As part of its constant efforts to provide advanced and value-added solutions to its customers, Arab Bank has recently launched a new digital biometric service - the first of its kind in Palestine. The new service enables customers to be instantly recognized based on their finger vein allowing them to conduct banking transactions across the bank’s branches easily and securely. This comes as part of Arab Bank’s efforts to deploy the latest technology in the banking industry in order to constantly improve the customers’ branch experience in Palestine.

The service was developed in accordance with the latest standards and highest levels of security enabling customers to digitally preform cash withdrawal and deposit transactions at the branches based on their unique finger veins via tablet devices specially designed for this service.

Commenting on the service launch, Mr. Jamal Hurani, Country Manager at Arab Bank – Palestine stated: “Arab Bank plays a leading role in adopting the most advanced digital banking solutions to offer its customers a seamless and responsive banking experience. This is manifested through the introduction of the Finger Vein Recognition service which dovetails with the bank’s comprehensive innovative digital value proposition developed in line with its customers’ lifestyle and evolving needs.” Hurani added: “This new service will facilitate transactions and increase efficiency within the branch by reducing paper work and simplifying the customer recognition process.”

The Finger Vein Recognition service will be available across all Arab Bank branches in Palestine by end of this year. Noting that it is currently available at the following 12 branches: Masyoon, Al Beireh, Irsal, BirZeit, Salfeet, Beddo, Bitnoyia, Ramallah Al Ballad, Al Manara, Salfit, Jericho, Al Ram and Bethany.
It is worth mentioning that Arab Bank has recently received 14 global awards from Global Finance, a New York-based international publication, in recognition of its consumer and corporate digital banking services across the Middle East in 2018.
